Massive rally/protest at UC Riverside, on issues that are important to students but not controlled by our Regents but more closely related to the failing California economy. Although I watched the protest all day, I was not an active participant. I did not agree with the overly aggressive and somewhat violent behavior towards the police officers who were merely just doing their job. It was sad to watch everyone fight so passionately against them, when they were not the problem. The protest turned more into the Occupiers trying to get a reaction out of the cops then anyone actually fighting for the actual issue, which is just another example how the world would rather be dramatic than actually fight for what’s right.

It’s amazing that the things we try so hard to let go of will never cease to have a hold on us

HOW MANY UC STUDENTS DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE A LIGHTBULB?

UCLA: Two. 1 to change the bulb, and another to call their friends at USC and tell them how they changed it just as well and for much cheaper.

CAL: Three. 1 to change the bulb and two to debate about the metaphysical state of the bulb and how its invention has impacted human development.

UCSD: Five. 1 to hold the bulb and 4 to start smoking weed until the room spins.

UCI: Eleven. 1 to change the bulb and ten to sit around watching because honestly, what else is there to do at Irvine past 10pm??

UCR: Three. 1 to steal the bulb, another to drive the getaway car, and the last to call all his friends to throw the celebration party on a Tuesday night.

UCSB: Seven. 1 to screw the bulb and 6 to screw each other.

UC Davis: Zero. There is no electricity in Davis.

UC Merced: Two. One to hold the bulb while the other calls his friend asking for help in figuring out this “new college thing.”

UCSC: None since they are living in the forest

I’ve been replaying Adele’s “Someone Like You” all day, then you texted me. I thought this was the beginning of recovery, but it wasn’t. You said it, plain and simple, you don’t like me anymore. I can’t take back my actions and I don’t regret my actions. I wronged you, but we’ve wronged each other before. I can’t sit through this emotional torture anymore, I can’t hurt myself over this anymore, I can’t throw up about this anymore. I still love you but you don’t love me anymore. I opened up to you more than anyone else, but I’ve learned my lesson. I wish nothing the but best for you. Sometimes it lasts in love, and sometimes it hurts instead. Hopefully one day I can find another friend as good as we were during the high points. For all the low points we went through, the high points always made it worth it. As for now, I’m only left heartbroken.
